He left Spain in the 1990s to make a new life in America, where his birth parents lived. Other than that, no one needs to know anything about Alejo, because biographical and sociological facts are immaterial. The focus should be on the work. The aim is for the poems and plays to stand on their own, inhabiting their own space.
There are too many writers, and no readers. We are --all of us-- impenetrable ego fortresses. There is a strong need to write/create, but is there a need to read? Most of us are looking for a bit of escapism and entertainment, and poetry doesn't offer much of that. Plays do, a little, I guess. It is probably too much to ask to ever acquire an audience. The most one can ask for is to remain sane. The way I see it, only a belief in God and doing good works for their sake can minimize our natural human urge to ego-centeredness.
Most of my poems are not based on anything that has happened to me or anything that I have dreamed or, in fact, on anything from the "real world" outside the poem. I play with pre-existing texts, put them through the blender of "reverse wording" and Google Translate and then create 15 or so pages of "nonsense" out of which I find my poem.

I do not start with any themes although some themes may later appear. I think it was Verlaine who said a poem is not about ideas but words. And to that I would add images. Lots of them, sometimes a chaos of words and images. But a chaos that in the end needs to be pulled back, tamed, to arrive at something like a harmonious unity.
